The Art of Custom Pool Table Design

While game room furniture is practical, it can also complement your home’s design or enhance the overall feel of your rec room. If you’re looking for a new pool table, custom pool tables may be the ideal addition to your home.

What Are Custom Pool Tables?

A customized pool table is a personalized piece of furniture for your billiards room. What type of table do you like the most? Are you interested in sleek, modern tables or large, ornate pieces? Custom tables can include different materials, colors and styles that you do not typically see on traditional pieces.

How Do You Create a Custom Pool Table?

Think about how you want your billiards room to look. People decorate their game rooms with a variety of different themes and furniture. You can choose to create a table that complements your game room or build the space around your custom table.

To create custom pool tables, begin with the materials. You can build a pool table with various types of wood, including the following:

• Oak: Oak is a durable, grainy hardwood that does not warp. The wavy grain is distinct to oak.
• Maple: Maple is a more affordable hardwood that comes in white or white with a reddish tint. You can stain maple to mimic other wood types.
• Cherry: Cherry wood is a red to blond hardwood with straight grain. It is easy to polish and tends to darken as it ages.
• Walnut: Walnut is a hardwood that ranges from dark brown to yellow. It is strong and supports intricate details and carving.

Once you choose the wood type, you can select the billiards cloth and surface material.
